NL-AFFsharpening machine for sharpening Widia toroidal
cutting tools for turning of lasts in polyethylene and wood. The sharpening
operation is carried out by means of a diamond wheel supported by an electro-spindle.
The blade, positioned on a position-controlled travelling axis, turns
and moves forward towards the stepped abrasive wheel (programmable
in 5-micron steps). Thanks to the contact between blade and diamond wheel,
the blade is abraded, thereby the sharpening is obtained.
The machine is provided with a playback grinding cycle programming and
automatic repetition of the sharpening operation feature with micrometrical
accuracy.

The management is carried out by a programmable-logic controller (PLC),
and the automatic working cycle offers the opportunity to set a fixed
feed increment for each cycle to compensate for wheel wear. The machine
is equipped with a tool lubrication system with automatic cyclic
operation.
